1. Overview
Ecological textiles refer to those textile products made of raw materials that are harmless or less harmful to the surrounding environment and are harmless to human health.& nbsp;
Ecological textiles should meet the following technical requirements
1. Products must not be bleached with chlorine.
2. Products shall not be subjected to mildew proof finish or flame retardant finish.
3. Pentachlorophenol and tetrachlorophenol must not be added to the product.
4. Products must not have musty smell, gasoline smell or toxic aromatic smell. If there is an odor, there is residue.
5. Azo dyes that decompose into toxic aromatic amine dyes, dyes that can cause cancer and dyes that may cause allergies must not be used in products.
6. The content of formaldehyde, extractable heavy metals, pH value of the extract, color fastness and pesticide retention in the product should meet the requirements.
2. Standards and regulatory requirements
Oeko-Tex Standard 100 is the most authoritative and influential textile ecological standard in the world, and its latest edition is the 2015 edition. The relevant departments of our country have formulated GB 18401: National Basic Safety Specification for Textile Products and GB 31701: Safety Technical Specification for Infant and Children Textile Products.

pH value
The pH of human skin ranges from 4.5 to 6.0. The slight acidity protects the skin against bacteria and viruses. As people get older, their skin will become more and more neutral and will not be as antibacterial as before. Textiles that are neutral or slightly acidic are beneficial to the human body. If the pH of the textile is too high or too low, the skin surface will be easily damaged.

Once this accumulation reaches a certain level, it will have a serious impact on our health. Azo/sensitizing/carcinogenic dyes
Dyes in clothing fabrics come into contact with skin for a long time, and their safety is undoubtedly very important. Azo dyes are a common class of dyes and are widely used in the textile and leather industries. However, some of these dyes are believed to be reduced to aromatic amines that are harmful to human health. Some dyes that are highly dispersed in water have very small molecules and may be absorbed in long-term contact with the skin. Some of these dyes are believed to have sensitizing and carcinogenic effects.& nbsp;
phthalates
Phthalates are a commonly used plasticizer that is added to plastics and coatings to enhance their performance. Recent studies have shown that some o-benzene substances can have adverse effects on children’s development, so there are strict restrictions on toys that infants import.
organotin
Organotin has antibacterial, mildew and other biocidal effects, and is used in shoe linings, gloves, child care products and other products. High concentrations of organotin can be neurotoxic after being absorbed by the body through the skin.& nbsp;
colour fastness
Color fastness is a basic requirement for consumers for product performance and directly reflects product quality. Dye shedding not only affects the appearance of garments, but dyes are more likely to be absorbed by the body through the skin. Four color fastness indicators are selected in the ecological textile standard. The four color fastness indicators are water stains, sweat stains (acid/alkaline), abrasion resistance (dry/wet) and saliva (especially for infants and young children). The color fastness of baby clothing to saliva and sweat stains is particularly important because infants and young children can absorb dyes through saliva and sweat stains.
