Nigeria’s National Standards Organization (SON) is the government agency responsible for developing and implementing quality standards for imported goods and domestically manufactured products in Nigeria. In order to ensure that controlled products comply with the country’s technical standards or other international standards that have been approved for implementation, and to protect Nigeria consumers from unsafe products or products that do not meet standards, the Nigeria National Standards Bureau has decided to implement pre-shipment conformity assessment procedures for controlled products exported to the country.

(Standard Organization of Nigeria Conformity Assessment Programme (SONCAP). Currently, the Standards Bureau of Nigeria has authorized CCIC to implement SONCAP services on a global scale. SONCAP’s conformity assessment business elements include: pre-shipment physical inspection, sampling, testing and analysis in recognized laboratories, review of product production processes and systems, document review and other (product) standard compliance assessment.
