The Saudi Organization for Standards, Metrology and Quality (SASO) has issued a reminder about applying for or updating “energy efficiency labels” as follows:

1. Starting from June 30, 2023, applications for energy efficiency can only be submitted through the account of the manufacturer or importer.

2. SASO Energy Efficiency Labeling Department continues to accept applications for transferring “energy efficiency labels” from third-party accounts to manufacturer accounts.

3. The addition of suppliers is limited to the manufacturer’s account.

4. Transfer of an application to a supplier account is only allowed under the following circumstances:

Ø If the supplier is a brand holder and there are no other importers in the supply chain.

Ø If the manufacturer does not activate the account, the supplier can submit an application on behalf of the manufacturer, which will be declared and authorized by the manufacturer.

Note: Starting from January 1, 2024, all accounts not belonging to manufacturers or importers will be deleted.

Energy efficiency label transfer methods:

1. Transfer requests must be sent to Labels.eff@ saso. gov. savia email using the manufacturer/importer domain name.

2. Provide the official statement document of the manufacturer/importer mentioning the current new account email address.

3. If the new account is an importer’s account, Saudi Arabia requires the manufacturer to issue a supporting document proving that the importer’s account is their only exclusive importer.

4. Fill out the following Excel form: “There is only one old mailbox. If you have multiple old mailboxes, you should make a separate mailbox transfer request for each old mailbox.”

5. Send the transfer request to the Saudi Energy Efficiency Mailbox, ensuring that the email from the current owner is included, and ask them to confirm the transfer request in the same email.
