GHS
In 2003, the United Nations (UN) issued the first edition of the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS), which is a normative system for the UN to regulate the handling, transportation and use of chemicals and protect human and environmental health. Information on physical hazards and acute toxicity of chemicals. UN generally releases GHS revisions every two years, and the current version available is the 9th edition in 2021. The GHS requires unified disclosure of hazard information about hazardous chemicals, posting hazard labels and accompanying Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
Country/organization SDS requirements
Countries/organizations around the world choose to implement one or more modules in the GHS based on their actual situation and transform them into their own/organization chemical regulations. When chemicals are exported to relevant countries and regions, they should meet the relevant SDS-related requirements of the importing country. SDS preparation content
The preparation of SDS is first based on the composition (constituent substances) and content of the material, and then determines the hazard category of the material according to the corresponding classification standards based on the component information, determines the corresponding management and protective measures based on the hazard category, and searches relevant data in the database to fill in relevant information. A complete SDS should have 16 parts, and the title, number and order of each part should not be changed at will. The following is an example of content compiled using China SDS:

enterprise-related obligations
When products are exported, shipping companies or airlines will require SDS for booking, and products will also need to be provided during customs clearance. Enterprises exporting chemicals or dangerous goods should compile product SDS in accordance with the classification of dangerous goods and relevant regulatory requirements of the exporting country to ensure smooth export.
