The new European ErP (Energy Efficiency Directive) standby power consumption regulation (EU) 2023/826 was officially released on April 18, 2023, will take effect on May 9, 2023, and will be mandatory from May 9, 2025.

Major changes to new regulations
  
1. Covers the maximum energy consumption requirements of various electrical and electronic devices in off-mode, standby mode and networked standby.
  
2. Repeal the old EU Standby Power Consumption Regulation (EC) 1275/2008 and Simple Set Top Box Ecological Design Requirements Regulation (EC) 107/2009.
  
3. The lower limit in standby and shutdown modes remains at 0.50 watts, and the lower limit in shutdown mode is increased to 0.30 watts starting from 2027-05-09.
  
4. The standby power consumption limit for devices with displays cannot exceed 0.80 watts. Tumble dryers cannot exceed 1.00 watts.
  
5. The standby power consumption of network connection products with HiNA function cannot exceed 8.00 watts, and the standby power consumption without HiNA function cannot exceed 2.00 watts.
  
6. Expand product range:
  
Remove exemptions from old regulations for equipment powered by low-voltage external power sources.
  
Remove washing machines and dishwashers, which are separately defined and required in regulations (EU) 2019/2023 and (EU) 2019/2022 respectively.
  
Add hair care equipment such as beverage preparation machines and curling irons.
  
Add requirements for equipment such as printers and game consoles.
  
Include simple and complex set-top box product categories.
  
Contains adjustable furniture, as well as electric shutters, doors, windows and similar products.
  
According to the EU Eco-Design Directive 2009/125/EC, products that do not meet the new requirements will not be allowed to be placed on the EU market.
