At the end of October, the Administrative Law Office approved the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment’s proposal to add a new section 25607 to section 25607.2. 2 (b) This model amends section 27 of the California Laws and Regulations. This new section provides an additional non-mandatory safe harbor warning option for companies with significant exposure to acrylamide in food, addressing the warning content of acrylamide exposure in food.
　　
It is understood that as early as 2017, the list of carcinogens published by the World Health Organization’s International Agency for Research on Cancer was initially compiled for reference, the list of acrylamide Class 2A carcinogens. The toxicity of acrylamide mainly includes neurotoxicity, reproductive toxicity, genotoxicity, immunotoxicity and potential carcinogenicity, which has been confirmed in humans.
