CE certification

CE is abbreviated from the French “Communate Europpene”, which means the European Community, or the European Union for short. The CE marking is a legally mandatory marking in the EU market. Please note:

a) The UK has withdrawn from the European Union and its regulatory requirements are very similar to the CE marking directives and regulations. Most British regulations refer to the application of the UK-specific qualification mark: the UKCA mark. However, in 2023, the UK government decided to continue accepting products with the CE mark, demonstrating that they comply with UK regulations.

b) Switzerland is not a member of the European Union, but for certain products it accepts the CE mark as a presumption of compliance with Swiss national technical regulations.

c) Turkey is neither a member of the European Union nor is it considered part of the European Economic Area. However, Turkey has fully implemented many European CE marking directives. This means that many products also require the CE mark.
