Starting from January 2021, if an article contains more than 0.1% SVHC candidate substances, responsible persons such as EU manufacturers, EU importers and EU assemblers will need to report SVHC information in the product to the SCIP database. Initially, the responsible parties related to the notification obligation only involved companies within the EU.

Starting from November 7, 2022, companies from three European countries (Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway) that are not member states of the European Union can also submit directly to the SCIP database.
