The Saudi Organization for Standards, Metrology and Quality (SASO) recently issued technical regulations on energy consumption requirements for standby and sleep modes of electronic and electrical equipment. The regulation was approved on April 6, 2023 and published in the Official Gazette on May 19.
It will be mandatory from July 1, 2024, when suppliers must prepare Supplier Declaration of Conformity documents in accordance with regulatory requirements.
The list of covered products and implementation dates can be found in Appendix (1-A) of the Regulation.

Appendix (1-B) shows the product range for which standby and sleep regulatory requirements are not applicable.
Test reports in the technical documentation shall be issued in accordance with the standards EN 50564 and EN 50643 specified in Annex 3 of the Regulation. The technical specifications are similar to the EU standby power consumption regulations, but some products have different requirements from the EU: such as electronic displays, dishwashers, and washing machines.
