On October 23, 2023, the FCC released KDB 388624D02 Pre-Approval Guidance List v18r04, which replaced KDB 388624D02 Pre-Approval Guidance List v18r03. The new KDB removes UNIDFS-related content. This means that from now on, 5G DFS Master and 5G DFS Slaver products with radar detection functions no longer need to go through the PAG process.

Historical overview of FCC certification for 5G DFS Master and 5G DFS Slaver products with radar detection:

1. Before March 4, 2020, you need to go through the PAG process and send samples to the FCC official for testing;2. From March 4, 2020 to October 23, 2023, due to the impact of the new coronavirus, the Colombia laboratory department in the United States stopped DFS verification testing (that is, there is no need to send samples to the FCC for official testing), but it still needs to go through the DFS PAG process to obtain FCC certification. The PAG’s cycle needs to be determined according to the FCC’s work situation, and generally takes 1 to 2 weeks;3. After October 23, 2023, there is no need to send samples to FCC officials, nor does it need to go through the PAG process.

The new regulations will greatly shorten the FCC forensics cycle for 5G DFS Master and 5G DFS Slaver products with radar detection functions.
