On March 5, 2022, the Australia Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) issued the “2022 Radiocommunications (Low Interference Potential Equipment) Category License Changes (Issue 1).”

It revised the 2015 Radiocommunication (Low Interference Potential Device) Category License and added the use of frequencies 5925-6425MHz.

63AA wireless local area network transmitter:

Allowed operating frequency band (MHz): 5925-6425

Maximum EIRP: 250mW

(1)The transmitter can only be used indoors.

(2)The transmitter power spectral density shall not exceed 12.5mWEIRP/MHz.

(3)Contention-based multiple access protocols such as Carrier Sense Multiple Access (CSMA) or Multiple Access Conflict Avoidance (MACA) must be implemented.

63AB wireless local area network transmitter:

Allowed operating frequency band (MHz): 5925-6425

Maximum EIRP: 25mW

(1)The power spectral density of the transmitter must not exceed 1.25mWEIRP/MHz.

(2)Contention-based multiple access protocols such as Carrier Sense Multiple Access (CSMA) or Multiple Access Conflict Avoidance (MACA) must be implemented.
