On December 29, 2022, the State Administration for Market Regulation (National Standards Administration Committee) approved the No. 19 of 2022 People’s Republic of China National Standards Announcement. This announcement includes the national standard GB 17625.1-2022 “Electromagnetic Compatibility Limits Part 1: Harmonic Current Emission Limits (Input Current per Phase of Equipment ≤16A)”, which will be officially implemented on July 1, 2024, replacing GB 17625.1-2012.

About standards:
During the transition period, both old and new versions of the standard can be used; after the new version is officially implemented on July 1, 2024, the products reproduced and delivered by the company must meet the requirements of the new version of the standard;

The main technical changes in GB 17625.1-2022 compared with the 2012 version are as follows:
1. Classification of Class A equipment: Add vacuum cleaners, high-pressure vacuum cleaners, independent phase control dimmers and special lamps for stage lighting and photography venues. The last two are classified as Class C lighting equipment according to the old version standards, and classified as Class A according to the new version.
2. Lighting equipment description:

3. New multi-functional equipment requirements:
If it can be achieved through reasonable settings, each function of the multi-function equipment can be tested independently. When each function of the equipment meets the requirements of the category to which the function belongs, the equipment meets the test requirements of this document. nbsp;
For equipment that does not clearly indicate how to operate each function individually, the manufacturer may provide instructions for testing to explain how to implement the corresponding functions of the equipment individually. These instructions can detail the internal changes of the equipment, and the equipment should be tested accordingly. If test instructions are not provided, or if each function cannot be run individually to test the equipment, the equipment meets the requirements of this document if the equipment meets the strictest limit requirements with all its functions turned on simultaneously. If a function of the equipment can be significantly regarded as the main function of the equipment compared with other functions, the equipment can be tested while all functions are turned on at the same time, and compliance determination can be made using the limits of its main function. nbsp;
4. Add and revise the test conditions for household electrical products (such as vacuum cleaners, washing machines, microwave ovens, etc.) in Appendix B.
5. Changes in lighting equipment (changes a lot)

a) Rated power>25W: 30*λ→27 (Based on the achievable power factor based on modern lighting technology, according to the old version, the smaller the power factor, the stricter the limit);
b)5W≤ Rated power ≤25W: Requirements for new lighting equipment: Need to meet one of the three clauses in Chapter 7.4.3;
c) Rated power <5W: Exemption from test.
6. Information Technology Equipment (ITE): There is no change in limit requirements. The external power supply further clarifies the test method, which is more in line with the actual use of the external power supply.
7. Audio and video equipment: There is no change in limit requirements, and the test method of television receivers (TV) has changed.
