EMF testing is used to detect the electromagnetic fields generated during operation of electrical equipment (household appliances, televisions, displays, measuring instruments, industrial equipment, etc.).

EMF testing has different purposes than EMC testing, in fact:
。 EMC Electromagnetic Compatibility: Testing is used to verify compatibility between multiple electrical devices. It has been verified that products in operation do not emit electromagnetic fields that could cause interference between them.
。EMF(Electromagnetic Field) testing is used to verify the safety of a product to the human body. Make sure that electrical equipment does not emit electromagnetic fields that are harmful to health.
The EMF test is a safety test used to verify the basic requirements of the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU(formerly 2006/95/CE) for the CE marking.
Harmonized standards include:
。EN 50364 Limitation of human exposure to electromagnetic fields generated by equipment in the frequency range 0 Hz 300 CHz for use in electronic anti-theft systems (EAS), radio frequency identification systems (RFID) and similar applications (ACC)
。EN 50445 product family standard to demonstrate that resistance welding, arc welding and related process equipment meet the basic limits for human exposure to electromagnetic fields (OHz 300 GHz)
。EN 62233 Household and similar electrical appliances-Methods of measurement of electromagnetic fields with reference human exposure (ACC)
。EN/IEC 62311 Evaluation of basic limits for human exposure to electromagnetic fields (0 Hz 300 GHz) for electronic and electrical equipment. EN 62479 Assesses compliance of low-power electrical and electronic equipment with basic limits for human exposure to electromagnetic fields (10 MHz 300 GHz)(ACC)
。EN/IEC62493 Evaluation of lighting equipment for human exposure to electromagnetic fields
