On June 8, 2023, the official website of the European Union released the immunity standard for lighting equipment-EN IEC 61547:2023, which will replace EN 61547:2009.The new standard will be implemented on December 8, 2023 and mandatory on March 8, 2026;

Electrical lighting equipment covers a wide range of areas in life and develops very rapidly, affecting the daily life of thousands of households, city night lighting, entertainment stage lighting, etc. EN IEC 61547:2023 adopts IEC international standard IEC 61547:2020 and is an important test basis for electrical lighting equipment in terms of emission immunity.

  Main technical changes:

1. Increase the ESD and surge test voltage of road lighting equipment, as follows:

ESD Contact discharge : 8kV Air discharge : 15KV
surge line to line : 2KV line to ground : 4KV

2. Delete the ground-to-ground surge test of self-ballasted lamp lines ≤25 W;

3. Modify the surge test level. Except for self-ballasted lamps ≤ 25W, the test voltage of all lighting equipment is line-to-line: 1KV, and line-to-ground:2KV;

4. Modify the performance judgment of the voltage sag test, and change level C to level B;

5. When performing ESD discharge on the contactable surface of the EUT, two operating modes of ESD are described: normal operation of the EUT and operation of the EUT.
